We are looking for a motivated young scientist (m/f) at our office in Eching who is fascinated by the task to work in the field of sensor fusion and environment perception for automated vehicles. You will contribute to and collaborate in the European public funded project “ADAS&ME”. The project started September 1st 2016 and is planned for duration of 42 months.
The objective of ADAS&ME is to develop ADAS that incorporate driver/rider state, situational/environmental context and adaptive interaction, to automatically transfer control between vehicle and driver/rider and thus ensure safer and more efficient road usage for all vehicle types (conventional and electric car, truck, bus, motorcycle). DENSO is leading the work package on environmental sensing, which combines communication with infrastructure, direct communication between vehicles (V2X) and onboard sensing.
As representative of DENSO you will take over the following tasks:
Research state of the art sensor fusion technologies
Develop algorithms to robustly fuse sensor information and derive situational awareness
Implement a demonstrator together with the project partners
Collaborate and coordinate research activities with partners in academia and industry
Master in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar
Knowledge in the area of stochastic processes / probability theory
Basic knowledge in C/C++ (or similar)
Basic knowledge of network protocols desirable
Basic knowledge of Linux desirable
Good knowledge of written and spoken German and English language
Capability of working on own initiative and good communication abilities
